Boo.

‘Paranormal Activity‘ was so disappointing.

To its credit there were a handful of genuinely creepy scenes, but I can’t get over how quickly that eeriness waned into mediocrity. In particular, the douchebag boyfriend’s reactions and decisions were so mind numbingly stupid that he came off as more of a horror movie cliche (see: the catalyst that brings things from bad to worse) that it made it difficult to suspend belief especially towards the end. I mean, really? You won’t stop provoking the entity but you’re super worried about your girlfriend’s safety? Things progressively get scarier and scarier since you brought home that video camera but you won’t put it away? Uck.

Also it reminded me a lot of this book that I read a year or two ago, particularly the ending:
